2018 has been quite a year for Walthamstow. Towards the end of May 2018 Sadiq Khan, the Mayor of London announced that here will be a £15million revamp for Walthamstow Central Tube Station. The funding from TFL's Growth Funding Scheme is conditional on the basis that the Walthamstow Mall redevelopment (involving £200million) will be approved. Mr Kahn has been in talks with the council, the Greater London Authority and Transport for London.
